About the role:
We're looking for an experienced Table Grape 2IC to support operations on our 200ha farm in Emerald, Qld. The role focuses on maintaining high-quality production, fostering leadership within the team, and ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and quality standards. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership abilities, and hands-on involvement in daily operations.
Primary responsibilities:
* Oversee vineyard operation including crop planning, cultivation, crop control, pruning, and irrigation management
* Maximize production quality through effective pest/disease control, fertigation, and nutrition programs
* Lead and supervise staff ensuring a safe, accountable, and collaborative work environment.
* Assist with business management by contributing to budgeting, cost control, reporting, and ensuring regulatory compliance
* Drive development and continuous improvement through strategic planning, project execution, and operational efficiencies
Skills and experience:
* Qualifications in Horticulture, Agriculture, Agribusiness or related field
* 2+ years in vineyard supervisory role or related role
* Valid, current and unrestricted driver's license & forklift license
* Demonstrated knowledge of horticulture, pest management, soil science and other agricultural practices
* Demonstrated leadership skills
* Competence in using technology and farm-specific applications
