**About the team**

Within the Ministerial Liaison and Governance Branch, the Parliamentary Services (incorporating portfolio co-ordination) team provides advice, support and liaison between the department, portfolio agencies and our Ministers' offices (MO).

The team provides a variety of services and is responsible for managing the Department's many day-to-day parliamentary and co-ordination operations.

The team's tasks include but are not limited to facilitating the workflow of ministerial correspondence, administering portfolio co-ordination requests, organising the portfolio's attendance at Senate Estimates, providing administration and other support for the Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS), and managing other related functions including Question Time Briefs (QTB), parliamentary inquiries and questions on notice.

As EL1, you will be part of the Branch's leadership team with responsibility for overseeing the delivery of key aspects of the Department's parliamentary and co-ordination functions.

To be successful as an EL1 you will need to demonstrate, or have the potential to quickly develop, the following:

- a calm, positive outlook with a pro-active, solutions-based attitude;
- the ability to communicate with influence including listening actively and clearly articulating your message in written and oral forms in a persuasive manner;
- effective stakeholder engagement skills to collaborate across teams and divisions, build consensus amongst stakeholders and effective professional networks and liaise with internal and external stakeholders;
- excellent coordination skills and have the ability to manage your team's workload to achieve results, often in an environment of competing priorities and tight deadlines;
- ability to work with a high level of autonomy under broad direction, managing strategic processes, including the capacity to respond quickly to changes in requirements and have a strong attention to detail; and
- the ability to act with integrity, professionalism and use sound judgement.

Experience in the following is highly desirable but not required:

- using a document management system such as 'Digital First', CabNet+ and/or PDMS; and
- a working knowledge of ministerial and parliamentary systems and processes, or an appetite to develop these skills quickly.

**What you will do**:
Building on the information already detailed above, key duties and responsibilities may include:

- leading, managing and working in a small team that provides parliamentary and coordination advice and services;
- building constructive relationships and managing stakeholder engagement, which includes providing assistance across the portfolio on procedures and requirements;
- ensuring a high level of quality and timeliness in managing requests and delivering efficient services to Ministerial offices, the portfolio and Executive;
- developing creative approaches to improve efficiency and productivity within the team;
