Registered Nurse - Part-Time Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team on a part-time basis, working 3 days per week on a 12-month contract.
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity for an individual with demonstrated understanding of oncology and the ability to liaise with allied health care to provide clinical care, education and support the delivery of an exceptional patient experience.
The successful candidate will work closely with doctors, patient services, physics, research, and radiation therapy staff to ensure patients' physical and psychological needs are met.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide excellent patient care, ensuring patients' physical and psychological needs are met.
2. Interact with patients and undertake education, wound management, and drug administration.
3. Facilitate effective lines of communication with doctors, patient services, physics, research, and radiation therapy staff.
4. Provide patient feedback to the doctors and radiation therapy staff.
5. Ensure all patient listed events are documented, communicated, and actioned.
6. Monitor and maintain procedures, protocols, practices, and clinical guidelines in line with best practice nursing standards.
7. Ensure medication management protocols are followed.
8. Establish communication for allied health services using ISBAR communication tool to all allied health services along with supported documented evidence.
9. Comply with patient handover procedures as per ISBAR communication tool.
10. Support the clinical introduction of new medications / drugs and nursing products by demonstrating knowledge and application in the patient care setting.
Requirements
* Current AHPRA registration.
* Clinical experience as a nurse with demonstrated understanding of oncology and the ability to liaise with allied health care.
* Nuclear medicine background preferred but not essential, we can provide training on-site.
* Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to demonstrate empathy for patients.
* Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Commitment to the application of quality improvement and best practice principles, including the NSQHS.
* Strong commitment to quality patient care.
* Interest in continuing your professional development.
* Wound care management experience.
* Ability to use electronic clinical administration systems, as well as MS Office is highly preferred.
* Experience in radiation oncology is preferred but not essential as we will provide training as needed.
