Our Client
United Petroleum is an independent, 100% Australian owned fuel and convenience company with c.$7b of revenue and around 500 sites nationally, offering customers premium quality fuels at competitive prices, Australia-wide.
United Petroleum has a trading desk in Singapore, fuel import terminals in Hastings and facilities in Bell Bay (Tasmania), Port Alma (Queensland), Mackay (Queensland) and storage tanks rented in Sydney and Darwin. The organisation operates a fleet of 120 trucks and also supplies aviation fuel and wholesale fuel to the private and public sector. In addition, the company owns Mrs Mac (Pie Manufacturer) and food retailer Pie Face.
We have an exciting opportunity for a General Counsel & Company Secretary to join and advise across all legal aspects of the day-to-day operations of the United Petroleum business, reporting directly to the CEO and Directors.
The Role
This role will suit candidates with significant top tier corporate and commercial experience and/or in-house experience. You must thrive in demanding, robust and highly successful environments and be comfortable providing counsel at executive and board levels. Your role will be varied, providing strategic legal advice across corporate, commercial and governance matters. You will also act as Company Secretary, assist in the formation of a board, advise on compliance issues and assist in the management of major disputes.
This is a chance for a Senior Lawyer to be a part of the continued success of the United Petroleum business and work collegially with the executive team, steering the company into its next phase.
FMCG industry and board level experience will be regarded favourably.
