- Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and support to management in respect to the work area.
- Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of cultural inclusion strategies

**Role**:

- The Communications and Engagement Coordinator will:

- Manage GSSC¿s website, including responsibility for ensuring content is up-to-date and relevant.
- Work closely with the Executive Coordinator to manage whole College communications, such as via Compass
- Manage the College¿s social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram) including content creation, scheduling content, responding to comments/messages and encouraging student input.
- Respond to incoming media enquiries together with relevant regional DET staff.
- Identify proactive media opportunities, such as around student achievements, classroom learning and activities and cultural celebrations and events
- Assist in drafting effective communications for students, staff and families including but not limited to: internal communications, Powerpoint presentations, web and social media content, media releases, video scripts, letters and direct mail and newsletter content.
- Work with First Nations and Multicultural teams to ensure communications and engagement activities are culturally appropriate and relevant, including exploring opportunities for translated communications
- Together with First Nations/Multicultural staff and student leaders, support the Executive Principal to deliver ongoing opportunities for community/family meetings and engagement activities, particularly with culturally diverse groups.
- Manage the annual advertising schedule working closely with Finance and enrolment/transition teams to positively promote Year 7 transition and enrolment processes and other school events and celebrations.
- Support the Communications Officer through guidance/mentoring and upskilling in the role. Provide a back-up for this role in photography/video and graphic design activities, as well as the issuing of fortnightly newsletters.
- Work with the Partnerships Manager and Careers team to manage the GSSC brand, including use of the GSSC logo and opportunities for positive promotion of school/community partnerships and activities which highlight careers and pathway offering at the college.
- Other duties as directed by the Executive Principal and Executive Coordinator_

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide high level communications and media support to the Executive and Senior Leadership Team at the College
- Develop communications and engagement strategies aligned with the College¿s Annual Implementation Plans and Strategic Plan
- Work alongside regional Department of Education staff to respond to media enquiries and identify proactive media opportunities
- Manage the College¿s annual advertising program, with a particular focus on enrolment and transition
- Provide ongoing support and training to the Communications Officer including direction on tasks, identifying priorities and opportunities for proactive communications and engagement activities
- Work closely with the Ngarri Ngarri team and Multicultural Liaison Officers to increase accessibility and engagement and support greater outcomes for culturally diverse students and their families
- Identify opportunities for greater student voice and family involvement in school activities
- Manage GSSC¿s website and social media platforms
- Manage the College¿s brand
- Attend and actively contribute to relevant meetings and events
