Altus Group is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor with 5-10 years' experience, to join our Development Advisory division within our Sydney office.
Reporting to the Associate Director, as a Senior Quantity Surveyor you are passionate about helping clients manage their construction costs and ensuring financial efficiency throughout the various stages of construction.
Job Responsibilities:
* Providing detailed and accurate cost advice to clients including preparing of cash flows, pricing of estimates, cost plans, measuring quantities for variations and BOQ's;
* Technically proficient at all aspects of pre and post contract QS services and completion of complex trade and elemental take-off;
* Assist in VM preparation, Attend design team meetings;
* Undertake site visit and complete valuations of work complete on site;
* Amend / update / reconcile Cost Reports and undertake cost analysis and writing of monthly reports;
* Review financing agreements / understanding of funding arrangements;
* Ability to meet and manage clients and other professional consultants;
* Client facing and assist in establishing a client's requirements, undertaking feasibility studies and maintain ongoing client communication to resolve issues expeditiously;
* Manage a team of Quantity Surveyors including mentoring of junior employees;
* Ability to use appropriate software and technology e.g. MS Office; Buildsoft and Cost X
Job Requirements:
* Expertise and accreditation in Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.
* Minimum 5 year's Quantity Surveying experience
* Membership in an approved Professional Body- preferred (eg. AIQS, RICS, CIOB);
* Advanced knowledge of the local construction industry including development, contracting and consulting sectors;
* Strong analytic and problem-solving abilities.
* Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty and ethics;
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated skills in client file management, planning and organisation.
