About the Role
Children's Centres for Early Childhood Development and Parenting across South Australia (children's centres) are a network of integrated health, family support and education service hubs for families with babies and young children. Speech pathologists and occupational therapists provide a range of discipline-informed group and individual services for children, families and colleagues that promote children's healthy development and support parenting through both universal and targeted service provision. The professionals deliver evidence-based services drawing upon key frameworks including attachment theory, trauma-informed practice, cultural responsiveness, and a strengths-based approach. They are members of interdisciplinary teams working in partnership with families, government and non-government sector colleagues across community, home and learning environments. Student Support Services are on a cultural response journey, valuing and prioritising Aboriginal ways of knowing, doing and being.
Qualifications
Speech Pathologist – Essential:
An appropriate degree or equivalent which gives eligibility for full membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
Speech Pathologist – Desirable:
Current practising membership with Speech Pathology Australia with Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status.
Occupational Therapist – Essential:
Current and full registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
Occupational Therapist – Desirable:
Nil
Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (WWCC) prior to employment, which must be renewed every five years. The incumbent must undertake the RRHAN-EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online Fundamentals course, updated every three years. For all other special conditions refer to the attached Position Description.
Remuneration
AHP2 $91,785 - $106,330 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%) + leave loading and applicable allowances.
