The Elective Surgery Access Nurse is responsible for strengthening health outcomes by providing safe, quality, clinically appropriate nursing care. They work in partnership with patients, their families and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible results.
The role requires a high level of knowledge and skills combined with significant experience in acute surgical nursing. This includes knowledge and understanding of pre-admission, admission, discharge and waiting list management principles.
Advanced communication skills are also essential, including the ability to effectively communicate, negotiate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, diverse stakeholders, patients and their families. Conflict resolution skills are also required.

In addition, a postgraduate qualification is desirable.

Eligibility
To be eligible for this role, you must:
* Be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
Possessing or working towards relevant postgraduate qualifications is also desirable.
