Senior Financial Accountant Role
We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our team in Australia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general insurance accounting and a minimum of 5 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably within the General Insurance industry.
The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for preparing APRA returns, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries for month/quarter/year end close. They will also assist with quarterly CFO reports, indirect taxes, accounts payable and receivable, and annual tax returns.
In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate will complete industry surveys, such as the ABS, and participate in annual external audits. They will work closely with the Finance Operations team to ensure compliance with accounting standards and effective risk and capital management.
The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.

Requirements:
* CPA or CA qualified
* Minimum 5 years of financial accounting experience preferably within the General Insurance industry
* Experience using general ledger systems (Oracle, PeopleSoft, etc.)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
