Overview
The Family Support Worker will be based in Bidyadanga on a part-time basis. You will play a vital role in providing family support services to Aboriginal families and their children as part of the Remote Early Childhood Supports (RECS) Program. The position involves developing relationships with families, working closely with the Allied Health team to provide early childhood interventions, advocating for families within community services, and enhancing cultural awareness among staff.
Core Responsibilities
* Deliver family support services to Aboriginal families, focusing on early childhood development and interventions.
* Foster improved communication between families and the RECS program, respecting cultural beliefs and values.
* Collaborate with the Allied Health team to provide coordinated care and support for children and families.
* Advocate for families, ensuring they receive necessary services from external community-based organisations.
* Enhance cultural awareness among staff and contribute to the development of culturally appropriate resources for the RECS Program.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate for the Family Support Worker position will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
* Proven ability to effectively communicate and work with diverse Aboriginal language and family groups.
* Experience working within a team environment, demonstrating collaboration and support.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clarity in information delivery.
* High level of integrity in maintaining confidentiality and trust within the community.
* Current C class WA driver's licence and a Working with Children's Check.
* Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable qualifications include a Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or a Certificate III in Community Services, as well as local Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander connections to the region.
Salary & Benefits
This position offers a base salary of $76,101 per annum pro rata, along with several additional benefits to support our employees:
* Accommodation Allowance of $7,800 per annum pro rata
* Annual Airfare of $1,285 per annum (after 12 months of service)
* District Allowance of $2,920 (single) or $5,840 (double) per annum pro rata
* Electricity Allowance of $1,440 per annum pro rata
* Optional Salary Sacrifice up to $30,000 per annum pro rata
