The Opportunity: At Shine, we right wrong for our clients, and as our permanent Paralegal or Senior Paralegal in our Newcastle personal injury and abuse law team, you'll work closely with, and support, our legal team to make a meaningful, long-lasting impact for our clients. This is a full-time role, with consideration for four days per week.
Responsibilities
* Work with our solicitors to support day-to-day operations of files and client management.
* Prepare matters for conference and hearing, including preparation of court and legal documents and general correspondence.
* Draft briefs and documents, such as claims forms and schedule of damages, with high attention to detail.
* Coordinate medico-legal appointments, compulsory conferences and mediations.
* Cultivate strong relationships with clients, Shine employees, Counsel and other external stakeholders.
* Support the legal team with optimising the use of internal systems to process information.
What you'll bring / Qualifications
* Prior experience in personal injury law is highly preferable, but not essential for success.
* Demonstrated experience supporting legal teams.
* Accurate typing skills with intermediate Word & Excel skills.
* Keen eye for detail in document management and drafting.
* Great communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
* You'll recognise and value the importance of your role in being the gateway to support our clients.
