Job Description
The Trustee for the P & R Family Trust Key Duties and Responsibilities Prepare vehicle panels and surfaces for painting, including sanding, cleaning and masking Mix and match paint colours to manufacturer specifications Apply primers, base coats and clear coats using spray equipment Inspect completed paintwork and carry out touch-ups or rectification work where required Polish and finish painted surfaces to a high standard Measuring the thickness of paint by using DFT meter, setting trials and and ensuring DFT as per DAG spec. for base-coats more than 15 metallic BC, 2 solid base coat, 5 primers and 3 clear coat. Spot repair work from cab masking to final paint and then polish work painting/ spot gun selection and application trials.
Maintain spray booths, tools and equipment in clean and safe working condition Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times Skills and Experience Required Relevant trade qualification (Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology or equivalent), or At least 3 years of full-time, relevant industry experience Demonstrated experience working in an automotive repair or collision repair workshop Strong attention to detail and ability to produce consistent, high-quality finishes Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team Good communication skills and reliability
