About The Role
Join the Counselling Team within the Children, Young People and Families Service in a rewarding temporary opportunity based at Forster Community Health. This role offers flexibility to work across the Lower Mid-North Coast, supporting the counselling needs of children, young people, and their families.
You'll collaborate closely with colleagues and a broader multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
What You'll Be Doing
* Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based assessment and interventions
* Deliver person-centred care and therapeutic support
* Contribute to health promotion and education initiatives
* Participate in multidisciplinary clinics within the service
* See clients across a variety of settings, including:
o Community Health
o Client homes
o Schools
o Community locations

Who We're Looking For
We're seeking a compassionate and skilled professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people, and families. You'll bring:
* Experience or interest in child, youth, and family counselling
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
* Commitment to evidence-based, person-centred practice
Requirements
* Social Workers – must hold as a minimum a bachelor's degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
* Psychologists – must hold a four-year degree in psychology, being a three-year degree with a fourth-year honours in psychology, or a qualification deemed equivalent by the employer, and be registered (general) or eligible for registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia via AHPRA.
Additional Information
* To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
* An eligibility list will be created for future temporary part time vacancies
