TRILITY is seeking a Senior Mechanical or Process Engineer to join our high performing engineering team. We are open to location and will consider candidates who would like to be based in either our Yatala, QLD or Morisset, NSW location.
The role
The role will see you apply your Mechanical or Process engineering skills combined with project experience to TRILITY’s engineering team. Our engineering team is multi-discipline team spread across Australia and New Zealand. The team has a location-independent principle, with remote collaboration systems to enable delivery of projects anywhere in Australia and New Zealand.
This is office-based role, with some travel as required and some flexibility for periodic working from home as appropriate. It is not a FIFO role. Whilst there is flexibility for some work from home in a typical week, a full-time remote working arrangement is not applicable.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage designs for small to medium-sized projects (e.g. $50k to $5m project value)
- Lead design teams allocated to project including internal engineers, drafters and subcontractors, consultants and equipment vendors
- Liaise with design / engineering sub-contractors, consultants and equipment vendors to monitor progress, provide direction, review and integrate deliverables
- Technical review of engineering documentation and deliverables prepared by team members
- Work closely with Project Managers and client staff to facilitate design review processes and close out of resultant issues
- Assist with technical support to workshop technicians in the fabrication, testing and commissioning phases of projects
- Assist the preparation of bill of materials and procurement of equipment
- Assisting with plant testing and commissioning, including carrying out investigations related to the process and operational performance
- Assist Engineering Leader and other Senior Engineers in overall coordination of engineering team including taking responsibility for specific improvement initiatives and potential periods as acting Engineering Leader
- Complying with quality assurance systems
- Complying with Work Health and Safety Regulations
- Reasonable travel to support projects
- Other duties as directed
What we are looking for
- At least 8 years experience in a similar role with process or mechanical engineering qualifications
- Someone with strong multi-disciplinary experience and excellent working knowledge of civil, structural and electrical disciplines and integration of project deliverables
- Engineering design and design management experience including preparation and coordination of engineering deliverables
- Someone keen to work in the water industry
- Certification as a RPEQ, CPEng and NER or the ability to attain these certifications within 3 months of starting the role (i.e. criteria for these already met)
- An interest now, or in the future, of leading others both technically and as a manager
- Ability to understand and interpret data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write reports and communicate technical information to all levels
- Ability work autonomously
- Analytical ability and problem-solving skillsAppropriate level of confidence with a sense of contribution, drive, and initiative
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel and conduct field work
