Queensland Touch Football (QTF) is a member organisation of Touch Football Australia (TFA) and part of a strategic alliance with the National Rugby League. Touch Football is a popular sport in Queensland, with over 180,000 participants annually across various regions, from Thursday Island to Weipa, Mt Isa to Rockhampton, Roma to South Tweed. QTF oversees six regions and 79 affiliated associations, managing competitions, pathways, events, and development initiatives. The organisation is led by a seven-member Board of Directors and a Chief Executive Officer, aligned with a strategic plan to unite, inspire, and grow the sport based on core values: Forward Thinking, Stronger Together, Leading with Humility, Passionately Proud, and Fostering Fun.North Queensland Touch Association Inc (NQTA), established in 1978, covers a large geographical area with 22 affiliates and over 10,000 registered members, making it one of the top participation sports in North Queensland. Key events include the Junior State Cup, North Qld All Schools, and North Queensland Regional Championships. NQTA operates under an agreement with QTF, handling regional administration, competitions, and participation programs.Position OverviewThe Events Coordinator for North Queensland will be responsible for delivering regional events, including planning, logistics, onsite management, and reporting. The role involves coordinating travel, accommodations, and workforce planning, supporting statewide event coordination, and assisting with camps and projects. Collaboration with the QTF Operations Manager is essential to support competition administration, registrations, draws, and stakeholder engagement.Key AccountabilitiesEvent Planning and Logistics: Develop operational plans, manage competition systems, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure all documentation and permits are in order.Event Set Up and Pack Down: Lead onsite setup and pack down, coordinate volunteers and vendors, and ensure smooth transitions.Event Day Delivery: Oversee the event site, ensure safety, manage scheduling, and coordinate results and issue escalation.Event Reporting: Contribute to post-event evaluations and provide statistical data for reports.Competitions Coordination: Support team nominations, registrations, eligibility checks, and fixture creation, ensuring compliance with rules and guidelines.Attendance at major events like the Queensland All Schools and State Cup is required.Key Selection CriteriaBachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Event or Sports Management.1-2 years’ experience in event coordination, preferably in sports.Strong organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and ability to multitask.Valid Driver’s License and eligibility for a Blue Card.Ability to build stakeholder relationships and coordinate volunteers.Knowledge of Touch Football and experience with budgets and financial reporting.Child Safety and Work HoursQTF prioritizes child safety, requiring a current Blue Card. The role involves flexible hours, including weekends, to support events and activities outside standard business hours.
