Job Description
As a Diversional Therapist (also known as Diversional therapist / Recreational Officer/ Leisure & Lifestyle Officer), you will work under Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator or Living Support Manager to promote, maintain and improve the health and wellbeing of residents. You will be assisting the team in the development of a range of programs to suit the individual needs and preferences of residents within households. Things that work for us
* Cert III or IV Leisure and Health, Diploma of Leisure & Health OR Bachelor of Health Science (Recreational Therapy). Other relevant certificate in aged care may be acceptable.
* Available for casual position in weekdays and permanent shifts on weekends.
* Experience in an aged care home, implementing Leisure & Lifestyle programs including working with people with dementia
* Good team work
* Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
* Understanding of Aged Care and resident rights and responsibilities
* Experience with Autumn Care (or similar software) with ability to maintain excellent records
* NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card) or Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (less than 6 months old)
