Glass Wash Coordinator
Role highlights: Lead glass wash operations, rostering and quality, safety and compliance. Clean, sterilise and manage lab glassware and waste. Manage equipment, suppliers, stock and on‐site micro‐market standards.
Role particulars
Location: Geelong, VIC – Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP). Salary: AU$76k – AU$96k per annum (pro rata for part‐time), plus 15.4% superannuation. Tenure & work schedule: 9‐month specified term, full time (hours commence at 3:00am).
Your high‐level duties will include:
* Coordinate daily activities of the glass wash team: establish rosters, assign tasks and ensure quality, regulatory and safety standards.
* Co‐ordinate the delivery of the glass wash function: clean, dry, sterilise glassware and maintain the environment.
* Operate industrial glassware washers, sterilisers, heat‐sterilisation ovens, autoclaves and other security equipment.
* Maintain equipment, troubleshoot breakdowns and arrange repairs.
* Provide coordination and oversight of the stock supply and food hygiene of the non‐secure canteen micro‐market.
* Check detergent levels, refill, clean benches and sinks.
* Assist laboratory staff with glass stock levels and manage stationery orders.
* Perform other duties as directed.
Essential qualifications
* Previous experience and training in a laboratory environment handling chemicals and equipment.
* Proficient in manual handling techniques and lifting equipment.
* Previous experience in the food service industry.
* Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on leadership and coordination duties.
Desirable qualifications
* Experience in a high containment laboratory.
* Experience in a food safety or handling industry.
