The Opportunity:
We are looking for a
Strategic Projects and Programs Leader
to guide major initiatives under our Organisational strategy, to promote and grow the multiple use benefits of State Forests.

This is a role for someone who combines
strategic thinking with creative flair
- a leader who can design innovative solutions, engage diverse communities, and balance environmental, cultural and commercial outcomes.

Why join us?

* A unique opportunity to lead iconic projects that combine forest health, cultural partnerships, nature based tourism opportunities and community engagement.
* Work with diverse stakeholders to create outcomes that matter for the environment, industry and NSW communities.
* A supportive workplace with opportunities for professional growth and leadership development.
* Competitive salary and benefits, with flexible working options.

About the role:
As Strategic Projects and Programs Leader, you'll drive major initiatives across forest health, Aboriginal Partnerships, tourism, land development and community engagement. You'll lead projects from concept through to delivery, working closely with our Country and Community team and Regions, ensuring planning, environmental assessments and stakeholder needs are fully integrated.

The role combines strategy and on-the-ground engagement. You'll represent FCNSW with government, industry and community partners, provide policy advice, and at times deputise for the Senior Manager Country & Community. Organised travel across NSW is part of the role, giving you the opportunity to connect directly with the regions and communities your work supports.

We would love you to have/be:

* Tertiary qualifications in natural resource management, environmental science, planning or a related discipline.
* Solid knowledge of forest management, land use, or environmental assessment practices.
* Experience managing large, multi-stakeholder projects with both internal teams and external partners.
* Creative flair and strong written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into engaging strategies, reports and community messaging.
* Proven cultural awareness and experience engaging with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders.
* Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills with government, regulators, industry and communities.
* The ability to balance commercial, social and environmental outcomes in a complex operating environment.
* Capacity and willingness to travel, manage multiple priorities, and maintain firefighting fitness as required.
