Communications Technician – Rockhampton Based
Telecommunications (Information & Communication Technology) Full-time

We're on the lookout for a local, trade-qualified Communications Technician to join our Rockhampton team. If you're hands-on, safety-focused, and experienced with RF and Wi-Fi systems, this is your opportunity to step into a high-impact role supporting some of Australia's largest mining operations.
This full-time role is based out of our Rockhampton workshop, with regular travel to nearby surface and underground mine sites. You'll work directly with our product suite and integrated third-party technologies, delivering installation, maintenance, and repair services to our valued clients.
What You'll Be Doing
1. Install and maintain RF (radio frequency) and Wi-Fi network systems
2. Terminate coaxial cable and test/splice fibre optic cable
3. Diagnose and fault-find a wide range of comms systems
4. Perform bench repairs on electronic equipment
5. Uphold and promote site safety standards on all projects
What We're Looking For
1. Certificate III in Electronics and Communications (or equivalent)
2. 2–3 years' experience in a similar field-based technician role
3. Practical experience working on mine sites – surface or underground (preferred)
4. Knowledge of RF systems, fibre, and mining communication tech
5. Strong focus on quality work and customer satisfaction
6. Valid National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
You must be based in the Rockhampton region (or willing to relocate) and hold full Australian working rights.
You'll also need (or be willing to obtain):
1. Working at Heights certification
2. Tower Rescue certification (or equivalent)
