About the role
4. The Senior Clinical Dietitian is a highly skilled professional who is responsible for the nutrition and dietetic care of patients within a specialty area of one or more Functional Services, including management of the referral systems, evaluation of care, application of Clinical Dietetic policies and procedures, use of specialist knowledge and skills, service development and coordination of all dietetic work within the area of expertise. The Senior Clinical Dietitian works with very limited supervision. The position is unique in the organisation as it is a specialist role.
5. The Senior Clinical Dietitian provides clinical supervision to dietitians within the department and professional support to dietitians outside of the organisation in relation to the areas of expertise.
6. The Senior Clinical Dietitian provides a consultancy service to the medical, nursing and food services within the organisation (work unit) and the region in relation to the areas of dietetic specialisation.
7. The Senior Clinical Dietitian contributes to the evidence-base through quality improvement activities, research, and to workforce development through supporting the education of Nutrition and Dietetic students.

Educational/Vocational Qualifications
12. Qualified Dietitian with eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA).
Essential Requirements:
13. Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
14. Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description. SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
