The Senior Tax Specialist will interact frequently with senior leaders within RDA's Finance team. External stakeholders include the ATO, State Revenue Offices and external tax advisors.
About The Role
Reporting into the Finance Director – Tax, the Senior Tax Specialist will be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of the company's tax compliance obligations and for providing tax advice to stakeholders that is relevant, concise and technically sound. The Senior Tax Specialist can expect to be involved in the following tasks:
* Preparation of annual income tax returns and associated schedules;
* Preparation of tax-effect accounting entries and disclosures in accordance with AIFRS;
* Review of monthly BAS, including PAYG Instalment and PAYG Withholding obligations;
* Review of employment tax returns (FBT, payroll tax);
* Compilation of transfer pricing reports and country-by-country reporting;
* Coordination of R&D Tax Incentive claims;
* Further development and enhancement of RDA's Tax Governance policies;
* Preparation of tax expense and tax payment forecasts for budgeting planning;
* Preparing responses to ATO and State revenue office audits, reviews and requests for information;
* Champion Continuous Improvement of RDA's processes and procedures to drive process efficiencies and reduce compliance risks; and
* Other tasks as directed by the Finance Director – Tax in the area of finance and accounting.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
* Degree qualifications in Finance/Accounting/Commerce or related disciplines;
* Proven experience in a Tax role within public practice or industry;
* Expert knowledge on laws and regulations related to taxation in Australia, including transfer pricing laws and R&D Tax Incentive;
* Strong ability with MS Office i.e. Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.;
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and
* Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
