Safety manager

Job Title: Health and Safety Professional

This is an on-the-ground role, working closely with the project team to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with current H&S at work legislation, JGL IMS requirements, and clients' site-specific requirements.

* Ensure the safety of self and others by adhering to established guidelines and procedures.
* Embed principles of incident-free working into daily operations.
* Participate in regular RAMS and SOS briefings to stay informed about site-specific hazards.
* Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and members of the public.
* Possess relevant qualifications and certifications.
* Report near misses, incidents, or accidents promptly and accurately.
* Contribute to maintaining tidy work areas and enforcing health and safety policies.
* Use designated phone areas and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
* Respect smoking restrictions and manage COSHH materials correctly.
* Only operate equipment if authorized and trained.

* Good English skills, both written and verbal.
* Extended experience, general education may be sufficient.
* Understanding of Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and other relevant legislation.
* Suitable H&S qualification (e.g., NEBOSH).
* Demonstrable experience managing previous projects as a H&S advisor.
* Ability to keep accurate records.
