About the opportunity
This opportunity is for a Estimator within the domestic housing industry. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure that all projects are delivered to the construction team within budget and as efficiently as possible.
As a key member of our team you will be responsible for generating BOQ`s (bill of quantities), pricing for client-requested variations, colour selections, preparing and sending purchase orders, and delivering comprehensive pricing support to various departments within the organization, whilst uphold the company's values and reputation. We will provide tools, support and comprehensive training to facilitate your success.
Activities and Responsibilities
* Ensure the efficient and accurate production of building estimates
* Check plans and documents are inline in preparation for production estimating.
* Be able to review and analyse plans, specifications, and colours.
* Preparation of take-offs, Bill of Quantities (BOQ's).
* Issue and maintain purchase orders in accordance with the current Purchasing / Supplier agreements and methods of measurement
* Preparation of pricing for variations.
* Build and maintain effective relationships with industry partners, contractors, and suppliers
* Investigate invoices that exceed budget and categorise accordingly.
* Ensure all systems, information and estimating tools are reviewed and improved.
* Maintain product rates for both labour and materials costs for existing and new products.
* Assist and support in the development and maintenance of pricing models within existing and/or new systems.
* Use the Company's estimating software and database.
* Communicate with internal and external stakeholders

Essential
* Ability to read and understand house plans, specifications, and colours
* Excellent numeracy skills
* Computer skills with knowledge of on screen take off software and Excel

* Full Australian driver's license
* Full Australian working rights.
* Minimum 2 years of estimating experience required
Desirable
* Experience Estimating in the domestic housing industry
* knowledge of Constructor Software or similar
* Monitors performance against deadlines and milestones
* Balances the demands of work life and personal life
* Adapts interpersonal style to suit different people or situations
* Promotes ideas on behalf of self or others
* Structure's information to meet the needs and understanding of the intended audience
