About the roleAre you passionate about empowering youth and making a positive difference? selectability's empowered youth programs are seeking enthusiastic and skilled mentors to support individuals as they complete various certificates and build brighter futures. Based in Townsville, the lifestyle support worker mentor will provide support to students during the delivery of Certificate 1 in hospitality.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Mentoring and providing educational support to youth engaged in certificate programs.Empowering youth to build confidence, life skills, and resilience.Creating a positive and inclusive environment that fosters learning and growth.Collaborating with the program coordinator to deliver tailored support.About youTo be successful you must:
Have experience training/teaching others; a background in teaching/coaching is desirable.Show patience when working with individuals requiring extra support and guidance.Possess clear and effective communication skills.Have experience working in a team environment.Demonstrate a commitment to helping others achieve their goals.Exhibit an ability to problem-solve.Be able to follow policies and procedures at all times.Be able to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals.You will also need:
A current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland driver's licence.A currently registered, roadworthy, and fully comprehensive vehicle.A current nationally recognised First Aid and CPR certificates (or the ability to obtain).A Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain).NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain).NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'.About the offer & BenefitsThe LSW Mentor has the flexibility to be a permanent part-time or casual position based in Townsville.
