About the Role
The College is seeking an enthusiastic and organised School Librarian to oversee the management and development of the school's library resources and learning spaces.
In this role, you will work closely with teachers and students to promote reading, research, and information literacy across the curriculum. You'll play an important part in cultivating a culture of curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, a passion for literature and education, and the ability to create a welcoming and engaging library environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain library resources, systems, and databases
* Support students and staff in accessing and using information effectively
* Promote literacy, reading, and digital learning initiatives
* Curate and update collections to reflect diverse learning needs and interests
* Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into classroom learning
* Supervise library spaces to ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment
Skills and Experience
* Previous experience working in a school library or similar educational setting
* Strong knowledge of library systems and information management
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Passion for literacy, learning, and student engagement
* Collaborative and proactive approach to supporting teaching and learning
* Commitment to faith‑based education and the wellbeing of all students
You Must
* Hold current VIT registration or Working with Children Check (WWCC)
* Hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Services or Education
* Have full working rights in Australia
* Be committed to child safety and inclusive education practices
* Be available to commence January 2026
* Provide two recent professional referees
