Hands and Feet is a not-for-profit organisation that provides help in times of need for the poor, vulnerable, widows, orphans, and people with disabilities. Our warehouse at Osborne Park, WA collects, sorts, and distributes food to people in need.
We are looking for a competent Warehouse Manager to be employed on a permanent full-time basis (38 hours a week). We will also consider part‑time roles.
Responsibilities
* Manage the day‑to‑day operations of the warehouse.
* Plan and develop efficient logistical processes for the collection and distribution of food, keeping records in our logistics software (Crittah).
* Manage staff and volunteers.
* Maintain the upkeep of the warehouse plant and vehicles.
* Ensure the warehouse is clean and meets health standards when handling food.
* Ensure rubbish is collected and disposed of economically and appropriately.
* Provide access to the warehouse when required (lock and unlock).
* Manage a Work for Dole team and volunteers who sort and prepare food for delivery.
* Attend team and leadership development meetings.
* Maintain good relationships with warehouse neighbours.
* Implement and train staff and volunteers on emergency procedures for the warehouse.
* Induct volunteers and Work for Dole participants into WHS protocols.
Qualifications
* Have a LR Driver’s License.
* Understand safety protocols for operating forklifts.
* Personal skills: patience and the ability to work with and encourage people.
