A dynamic opportunity exists for a Strategic Legal Policy Advisor to join the Chambers of the Chief Magistrate, working at the centre of policy, reform and strategic decision‑making within the Magistrates' Court of Victoria. You bring a strong analytical mindset, sound judgement and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and persuasively. Chambers is a small, high‑performing team that provides trusted advice and support to the Chief Magistrate on matters of significant organisational and system‑wide importance. In this role, you will work closely with the Principal Advisor and other senior Chambers staff to support the delivery of the Court's strategic priorities and contribute to informed, high‑impact decision‑making. This role is ideal for someone seeking to apply their legal and policy expertise in a strategic advisory capacity, contributing to meaningful reform and the effective administration of justice. Demonstrated strategic advisory experience, including the ability to deliver well‑reasoned, insightful analysis on complex and technical matters relating to legislation, policy and strategy Demonstrated knowledge of legislative and policy development and reform processes, which is advantageous Strong legal and policy research skills, with the ability to synthesise information and identify key issues and implications A tertiary qualification in law is required and the completion of Practical Legal Training (PLT) About CSV and Equal Opportunity
