The Trainee Program
\
You will undergo four weeks of theoretical and practical training in workers' compensation case management. During this time, you will learn about:
\
\
1. The life cycle of a claim
\
2. Medical treatment types and appropriate management
\
3. Payment of medical expenses
\
4. Weekly compensation entitlements
\
\
6. Dealing with challenging conversations
\
\
You will spend time working in a team developing the following skills:
\
\
7. Arranging medical examinations
\
8. Taking a high volume of client and customer calls
\
9. Assessing and processing payments to stakeholders
\
10. Developing case management strategies
\
11. Reviewing and monitoring treatment requests
\
12. Liaising with stakeholders (injured workers, employers, and providers)
\
\
Further training throughout your first 12 months will be provided to expand your knowledge of workplace injury management, return to work planning, dispute resolution, and workers' compensation law.

Applicant Requirements
\
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
\
\
13. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with workers, employers, medical, paramedical, and legal practitioners
\
14. Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
\
15. Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle high volumes of phone-based customer enquiries
\
16. Previous medical administration experience an advantage
\
17. Previous experience in the Insurance, Allied Health, Legal industries an advantage
\
18. The ability to work concurrently across multiple technology platforms
\
19. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
\
20. The ability to plan and organize work in a manner that ensures timeframes are managed
\
21. Ability to work within a team in an office-based environment
\
22. Sensitivity to issues related to people with medical, cultural, and social needs
\
23. Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
\

Your Responsibilities
\
You will provide needs-based services to people with work-related injuries and be responsible for:
\
\
24. Active management of claims for compensation to deliver appropriate and timely treatment and promote return to work
\
25. Ensuring injured workers receive entitlements in accordance with the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013
\
26. Liaising with injured workers, and their employers and treating practitioners to facilitate and support medical management and return to work activities
\
