Interim Site Manager – Food Manufacturing (6-Month Contract) - Possibility of extention
An established Australian food manufacturing business is seeking an Interim Site Manager to lead day-to-day operations at a single-shift production facility based in Caboolture.
The business is focused on strengthening on-site manufacturing practises, improving employee engagement, and reinforcing core manufacturing standards.
This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong people and culture focus.
The Role
This role is responsible for the overall performance of a manufacturing site with particular emphasis on leadership presence, engagement, and operational discipline.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and engaging a small on-site production team
Acting as the senior on-site leader and point of accountability
Driving employee engagement, communication, and culture
Ensuring strong standards across food safety, quality, and compliance
Reducing waste and improving basic manufacturing discipline
Supporting training, coaching, and development of staff
Managing contractors for maintenance and servicing of equipment
Maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable site operations
About You
You are an experienced site or operations leader from a food manufacturing environment who enjoys being close to the floor and leading from the front.
You will bring:
Proven experience leading teams within food manufacturing or FMCG
A strong people-first leadership style with the ability to manage downwards effectively
Solid understanding of manufacturing equipment and contractor-led maintenance models
Confidence operating in small, hands-on production environments
A calm, practical, and solutions-focused approach
Experience in interim or contract leadership roles (highly regarded)
This role will suit someone who enjoys stabilising teams, lifting engagement, and making a visible impact over a defined contract period.
