What will you do?
Responsibilities
* Work alongside experienced Estimators to develop first‐principles estimates for the Civil Works Program, ensuring every pound is accounted for.
* Review drawings and specifications to create costing sheets for materials, labour and equipment—helping to shape the future of the project.
* Learn how to assess design options and value solutions, ensuring the project is both cost‐effective and high‐quality.
* Use industry‐leading software like Candy Estimating Software and RIB Cost X to develop pricing and bills of quantities.
* Collaborate with project teams and the supply chain to understand methodologies and ensure estimates are realistic and achievable.
* Support presentations and negotiations, learning how to justify pricing to senior leaders and external stakeholders.
* Track changes to estimates and budgets as the project evolves, gaining hands‐on experience in project management.
This apprenticeship is your chance to earn while you learn, gaining practical experience and a fully funded qualification in estimating or a related field. By the end of your apprenticeship, you'll have the skills and confidence to take the next step in your career—whether that's as an Estimator, Project Manager or another role in the construction industry.

Academic Requirements
* A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 9–4 (A–C), including Maths and English.
* A‐Levels or equivalent (e.g., BTEC, T‐Levels) in a relevant subject (e.g., Maths, Science, Business or Engineering) are desirable but not essential.

* A strong interest in numbers, problem‐solving and construction.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain ideas clearly and confidently.
