PFM is a family owned heavy-vehicle workshop providing fleet maintenance with mechanical service & repairs, custom fit-outs, automotive electrical and fabrication repairs & custom made.
With our growing busuness we are looking for the right individual to take the lead in our Human Resources & WHS section.
About The Role:
As the People & Safety Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting our team leaders and staff through day-to-day operation people, culture and safety, coaching, and structured process improvement.
This role will suit someone who enjoys taking charge, being on the floor, building credibility quickly, and supporting leaders to solve problems in a practical and compliant way. While also lifting standards through better systems, reporting, and consistent practices.
Your responsibilities will include:
Safety (WHS/OHS)
* Coordinate day-to-day WHS operations.
* Support leaders with hazard identification, risk controls, and safe work practices.
* Conduct and support WHS audits, inspections, and corrective action tracking.
* Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and preventative actions.
* Coordinate site WHS documentation, registers, and compliance requirements.
* Promote a strong safety culture through visible leadership, coaching and follow-up.
People & Culture
* Provide end-to-end generalist HR support.
* Partner with team leaders on performance management, workforce planning, employee issues, and case management.
* Support ER/IR matters, including workplace investigations and disciplinary processes.
* Assist with recruitment support, onboarding, and workforce changes as required.
* Identify opportunities to improve site practices, documentation, workflows and reporting.
About You:
You'll be a confident, pragmatic and collaborative professional who can operate autonomously.
You'll bring:
* Confidence in operational WHS/OHS coordiation, including audits and site-based support.
* Strong capability across employee relations (ER), industrial relations (IR), and workplace investigations.
* Demonstrated experience coaching and supporting team leaders.
* Confidence in generalist HR / People & Culture experience.
* Strong communication skills, sound judgement, and a calm approach to complex issues.
* The ability to prioritise effectively in a part-time role and deliver outcomes without fuss with the potential to have a full-time role and workplace flexability.
* Formal qualifications in WHS and/or HR are desirable (but not essential for the right person with strong experience).
This role can be part-tin or Full-time oppotunity, with the flexability to work from home where appropriate, depending on business needs.
