Oz Strawberry is located in Beerwah, Queensland and grows healthy and delicious strawberries supplying the whole of Australia. We are seeking a reliable and skilled farm worker for the position of production horticulture supervisor with the following skills and responsibilities.
To be considered for this role you must have:
- Certificate III or IV in Horticulture or related field is essential.
- At least two years of relevant experience in the strawberry growing industry.
- You must be an Australian Citizen/Permanent resident or have legal working rights in Australia.

Main tasks
1. Strawberry Harvest Operations Management
- Plan daily strawberry picking schedules based on fruit ripeness and market demand
- Supervise harvest crews to ensure gentle handling of delicate strawberry fruits
- Adjust picking methods according to strawberry variety and field conditions to minimize mechanical damage
2. Strawberry Quality & Food Safety Compliance
- Monitor pre-harvest intervals for strawberry treatments and maintain records
- Implement strict quality control for strawberry size, colour, and defects
- Ensure compliance with strawberry-specific food safety standards
3. Strawberry Pest & Disease Control
- Conduct regular strawberry field inspections for common disease signs, pests or weeds
- Coordinate immediate action for disease outbreaks and plant pest control in strawberry fields
- Maintain accurate spray records for strawberry crops
4. Strawberry Farm Equipment & Chemical Management
- Oversee maintenance of strawberry harvest equipment (clippers, sorting tables)
- Manage safe chemical storage and handling for strawberry production
- Calibrate sprayers for precise application on strawberry plants
- Transport and store chemicals related to farming safely according to regulations and requirements
5. Harvest Team Coordination & Training
- Train workers in proper strawberry harvesting techniques
- Coordinate daily staffing needs with farm management
- Enforce safety protocols in strawberry fields
6. Post-Harvest Program
- Land clearing and preparation for the next planting season
- Record maintenance and arrange repair of equipment and ensure appropriate storage of equipment
