Job Overview:
Our team is seeking a highly skilled Drilling Operations Assistant to assist in the mobilisation, cleaning and maintenance of drill rigs and equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping mud pits, drains and drill sites clean and orderly, mixing and testing drilling fluids, chemicals and grout, collecting and preparing geological samples, operating pumps and other equipment for air, water and mud systems, and performing basic maintenance and checks to ensure safe operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with the mobilisation and demobilisation of drill rigs and equipment
* Keep mud pits, drains and drill sites clean and tidy
* Mix and test drilling fluids, chemicals and grout as required
* Collect and prepare geological samples for analysis
* Operate pumps and other equipment for air, water and mud systems
* Perform basic maintenance and checks to ensure safe operations
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, applicants must have previous offsiding or physical labouring experience, hold an HR-B Licence, and have a current National Police Clearance (within 6 months). Water drilling experience is preferred, as is a strong level of physical fitness and experience working FIFO. A White Card is also required.
