St Francis Xavier's Preschool & Long Day Care Centre Wonga Road, Lurnea NSW 2170

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Cook to prepare healthy and nutritious meals for the children at our BRAND NEWPreschool and Long Day Care in Lurnea
This is a permanent part-time position (30 hours per week, 6-hour shifts), offering a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a nurturing environment that supports children's growth and well-being.
About the Role
As part of our team, you will play a key role in ensuring children receive balanced and nutritious meals while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. You will create a welcoming and warm atmosphere for children, families, and staff through your dedication and passion for food.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Planning and preparing appealing, balanced, and nutritious meals.
* Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations for the safe and hygienic handling, storage, and preparation of food.
* Catering for special dietary requirements and allergies.
About You
You are an organised, creative, and passionate cook who takes pride in meal planning and preparation. Your enthusiasm and commitment to the health and well-being of children will be evident in your approach.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Recognised training in food safety and nutrition.
Experience catering for children aged 0-6 years, including those with special dietary needs.
Demonstrated knowledge of nutrition and cost-effective menu planning.
Understanding of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and Department of Health Regulations.
Ability to comply with food handling legislation, childcare regulations, and centre policies.
A sound understanding of the Food Standards Australia & New Zealand Code.
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
Valid Working with Children Check.
First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Anaphylaxis Emergency Management Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
