We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cost Manager to join a newly established project team delivering one of the most significant infrastructure developments currently underway in Australia.
This is a central role on a multi-billion dollar project, with genuine ownership of the overall cost and budget reporting position. Working closely with the Head of Commercial and the broader project team, you will be the go-to person for cost performance, cash flow analysis and financial decision support, helping guide spending decisions and keeping the project's financial position clearly understood at all levels.
What you'll be doing:
* Reviewing and analysing monthly Contractor progress payment claims against actual progress
* Preparing draft payment certificates each month
* Compiling whole-of-project monthly cost forecasts, including Contractor and Principal costs, with commentary on movements and variances
* Analysing submitted variation costs and preparing costings for options, proposals and scenario impacts
* Delivering detailed cash flow analysis in conjunction with the commercial team
* Supporting the broader team's understanding of cost and financial impacts across a wide range of project activities
What you'll bring:
* Substantial experience on large civil infrastructure projects from a QS or Cost Engineering background
* Strong skills in budget control, forecasting, estimating and cash flow management
* A solid understanding of the cost drivers typical in major earthworks or civil infrastructure projects
* Familiarity with project overhead, design and personnel costs
* Contractor-side experience is a bonus; Principal-side experience in a D&C environment is ideal
* No aviation experience required — major civil infrastructure is what counts
What's on offer:
* Real ownership of cost management on a landmark Australian project
* A cooperative, high-performance team workplace
* Flexible hybrid working arrangements
* Competitive remuneration and a comprehensive benefits package
* Strong long-term career and career development pathways
