Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery is recruiting for experienced, hands-on Chocolatiers and Pastry Chefs to join our passionate team at our stunning Bellbrae venue, located just 10 minutes from Torquay.
The Role
This is a hands-on role working alongside our talented Pastry Chefs and Chocolatiers, contributing to the production of high-quality chocolate, pastry, and ice cream products for our busy showroom and café.
Pastry Chef
* Coordinating and managing with accuracy and efficiency of team members to complete mise en place for service
* Ensuring that quality issues are efficiently managed by reporting them to the Production Manager/Group Production Manager
* Assist the Production Manager in training and mentoring others in the team.
* Assist in calculating and managing the food and labour costs and ordering food supplies
* Contributing to new menu development and promotions / events
* Demonstrating cooking techniques while training new staff.
Chocolatier
* Coordinating and managing with accuracy and efficiency the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of pastry and chocolates and ice creams
* Producing chocolate products and gelato as per specifications
Your day-to-day work will include:
* Work in a safe and responsible manner, report any unsafe work practices to the Production Manager and conduct routine cleaning of all production facilities and equipment
* Ensuring the superior quality of the raw materials and managing the accurate measurement of the ingredients
* Meeting quality standards and ensuring a high presentation standard for customers.
* Critical to success in this role will be energy and a passion for quality.

About You
You will be a confident, reliable team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in producing high-quality products.
You will:
* Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced production environment
* Hold formal qualifications (Certificate IV / Diploma) in Patisserie, Culinary Arts, or a related field
* Have excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Enjoy working collaboratively in a dynamic, energetic team
* Bring a positive, can-do attitude to work each day
* Be passionate about creating products that customers will love
The Opportunity

Our Production department is an energy filled, fast paced environment working with the Packing team to supply our stunning Showroom and busy all day Café with chocolate, pastries, and ice cream.
This is a full-time position with day shifts, 5 days per week, including one weekend day.
We also have positions available at our Yarra Valley location.
