The Role of a Registered Midwife
About the Job
This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Midwife to join our team in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to women and their families.
Key Responsibilities
* To provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to women who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander or are pregnant and their baby will identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
* To work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide individualized care that supports the emotional, cultural, and spiritual well-being of the woman, her family, and the community.
* To promote understanding and respect of Aboriginal philosophies of health and wellbeing as holistic concepts and ensure knowledge, values, and beliefs are at the core of the delivery of care.
Requirements
* A current NSW Drivers Licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
* A current Midwife Registration with AHPRA and capacity to work and participate in an on-call, (24 hour per day/7 day per week) roster across the continuum of care that includes pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postnatal period.
* Promote understanding and respect of Aboriginal philosophies of health and wellbeing as holistic concepts and ensure knowledge, values, and beliefs are at the core of the delivery of care.
* A commitment to professional development, including evidence-informed practice and the acquisition and retention of comprehensive Midwifery skills.
