Job Description
We are looking for a Financial Analyst, Regulatory Reporting & Treasury to join our Finance, Reporting & Control team.
What is this role about?
In this newly created, critical role, you will be responsible for the preparation and submission of accurate APRA regulatory reports. You will work closely with various departments to gather necessary data and ensure timely reporting. Daily monitoring and reconciliation for the Treasury function, responsibility for internal reporting and monitoring of prudential limits; and ensuring a robust control environment where risk is managed on a daily basis.
Here's more of what you’ll work on:
* Ownership and maintenance of the team’s regulatory reporting requirements calendar
* Preparation and submission of Group Finance’s APRA reporting requirements, primarily including Balance Sheet, Liquidity, Risk and Capital Adequacy reporting
* Collaborate with finance, risk, and compliance teams to gather and validate data for reporting purposes
* Conduct data analysis and ensure completeness of regulatory returns
* Assist in Regulatory Capital reporting to the Board and sub-committees
* Preparation of Regulatory Capital forecasting
* Providing support and inputs to the Risk team to assist them in discharging their APRA governance and risk management duties
* Preparation of daily Treasury control functions (P&L review, reconciliations)
* Daily and monthly monitoring of prudential limits (e.g. APS 110/111 Capital, APS 221/222 exposures) in line with internal policy and APRA requirements
* Conduct detailed analyses of treasury data to identify trends and variances
* Maintain and reconcile Treasury related general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data, as well as resolve and escalate reconciliation issues in accordance with policy
* Ensure all assigned tasks are performed per documented internal policies
Qualifications
What can you bring?
Essential:
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in an APRA/Regulatory reporting function within the banking sector
* Strong ability to deliver process improvements
* Experience producing financial result analysis for management
* Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related field; a relevant postgraduate qualification or certification is highly regarded
Although not required, any experience in the following would be highly regarded:
* Experience with a treasury environment within the banking sector
* Previous experience with systemising regulatory reporting processes and output
* Knowledge of risk management principles and practices (i.e. the ‘3 lines of defence’)
