About the role
Ward Clerks across Prison Services Forensic Mental Health Services provide high quality administrative support to the multi-disciplinary teams working within the service. The Ward Clerks work under the direction of the relevant Program/ Unit Manager who is responsible for the management of the area and will provide guidance on work priorities. The Health Information Manager will provide Health Information support and guidance as required.
Duties:
* Collate and maintain patient health records and information in accordance with Forensicare and Justice Health policies, procedures and guidelines.
* Assist with the registration, admission and discharge of patients on CMI/RAPID ensuring a high level of data entry accuracy.
* Maintain accurate patient lists, and ensure all relevant documentation for admissions, transfers and separations are completed in a timely manner.
* Maintain the medical record tracking system and requests medical records as necessary.
* Enter data accurately into the State-wide Mental Health System – CMI/RAPID.
* Provide support in relation to electronic records and become a 'JCare' system champion
About You:
* Knowledge of the State-wide mental health system known as RAPID.
* Previous experience working within a health care setting would be an advantage.
* Knowledge of medical terminology.
* Tertiary or technical college qualifications are desirable.
* Ability to provide a range of administrative support services.
* Demonstrated organisational skills.
