Reporting into the Accounts Receivable/Payable Supervisor, the new Accounts Receivable Officer will be based at our Notting Hill office in Melbourne, Victoria and enjoy flexibility, a healthy work-life balance, and have the option of hybrid working.
The role may include some after hours on call order release duties where required.
You will play a key role in providing effective management of the company's debtor ledger, meeting company collection targets, and maximising cash flow.
Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: Collect payment for invoices in a timely manner; Manage overdue debtors and bad debts write off; Provide great customer service to internal / external customers; Identify and communicate issues internally, escalating as required; Meet monthly collection targets and maintain Days of Sales Outstanding (DSO) below budgeted levels; Establish and maintain new / existing customer master files to maintain an accurate database; Control and allocate of incoming payments against corresponding invoices; Complete end of month processing, including customer statements for maintaining accurate reports; Supporting the Accounts Payable team as required; Apply a compliance focused mindset across all operations, and; Always ensure a safety-first approach.
The ideal candidate will be equipped with the following attributes: 2+ years' experience in similar role, focusing on debt collection, payment allocation, and data entry; Generalist bookkeeping knowledge with attention to detail; Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and/or equivalent systems; Well versed with Microsoft Windows applications, i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook; Adaptability and readiness to handle multiple, changing priorities in a fast-paced environment; Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn; Exemplary understanding of compliance rules and ability to act as a role model in upholding and promoting compliance standards, and; Excellent analytical, problem solving, negotiation, conflict resolution, interpersonal, communication, organisational, and task management skills.
