**Residential Youth Worker**

Koorburra House are looking for dedicated & skilled Residential Youth Worker to join our team.
We specialize in providing 24 hour residential care and emergency respite care and aim to provide a warm, friendly home environment for our young persons where they can learn life skills and to live a full rewarding life.
Residential Youth Workers are required to provide day to day assistance and support to our young people in line with their support needs and identified goals.
As a Residential Youth Worker, you will:
- Guide and prompt with personal care needs i.e. meals and meal preparation and hygiene.
- Accompany young people on outings
- Transport young people to school and appointments
- Help to learn new skills and socialize in their local community
- Assist with medication administration
- Provide a safe environment and quality care & support for vulnerable young people and children with trauma backgrounds.
- Provide trauma informed care to children and young people with both behavioural challenges and trauma backgrounds
To be successful you will need the following:
- Preferred Qualification is Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or Youth Work or higher (**If you are currently studying the above course and am needing placement, we may be willing to work with you to achieve the qualifications for this role).**:
- Qualification of Certificate IV or higher in other recognised field (refer to 'Minimum Qualification Standards Information Sheet which can be found at minimum-qualification-standards-information-sheet.docx (dcssds.qld.gov.au)
- Hope and Healing online Framework Foundations Training
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) & Trauma Informed Care training are highly preferred but not essential
- Current Blue & Yellow Card
- Current Driver's License with own reliable vehicle (minimum third party property damage insurance)
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or willing to obtain)
- A high level of written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with clients with challenging behaviours - complex care
- Current Medication Competency (highly desirable)
- Confidence and professionalism in your ability to provide client focused support
- Strong professional boundaries and the ability to follow procedures
- Ability to be flexible within your work environment and to work as part of a team
- Have access to your own portable smart device e.g. phone
- Must have completed or be willing to complete the Child Safety 'Hope & Healing' framework and provide a certificate
- High level of availability with both day & night shifts
**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Pay: $33.96 - $41.76 per hour

**Education**:
- Certificate I - IV (preferred)
**Experience**:
- Youth Worker or Lifestyle Support Worker: 1 year (preferred)
