About Us:

The Bearded Dragon Hotel, established in 1997, is Scenic Rim's iconic “Hotel in the Paddock”, nestled on 5 acres of picturesque Tamborine countryside — just 40 minutes from Brisbane, Logan, and the Gold Coast in the heart of the Scenic Rim.

Our venue features a newly refurbished ballroom, upgraded audiovisual equipment, boutique onsite accommodation, and charming event spaces. We host everything from weddings and corporate retreats to live music gigs, business expos, country markets — and our much-loved Donkey Picnics and bespoke country experiences 🐴.

We are a destination venue with a growing events calendar and strong accommodation demand.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Sales, Events & Accommodation Coordinator to manage event bookings, generate new business leads, and oversee accommodation reservations for our 18 onsite rooms.

This hands-on role involves everything from initial enquiry to event execution and post-event follow-up, while also supporting occupancy growth and accommodation sales performance.

You will play a key role in delivering seamless weddings and events, coordinating bespoke experiences (including our signature Donkey Picnics), and helping maximise room occupancy through both direct bookings and third-party platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage all aspects of event coordination, from enquiry to successful completion

* Respond to enquiries, conduct site inspections, prepare proposals, and secure bookings

* Oversee accommodation reservations for our 18 rooms, ensuring seamless guest experiences

* Develop detailed event plans, including timelines, styling, catering, entertainment, and vendor coordination

* Collaborate with our talented team of local and internationally experienced chefs to ensure flawless food execution for weddings, events, and bespoke experiences.

* Lead on-the-day event coordination and ensure smooth handover to allocated staff

* Collaborate with the marketing team to create event packages and promotional material

* Monitor booking channels and support occupancy growth across direct and third-party platforms (e.g. Booking.com or similar)

* Assist with invoicing, budgeting, and financial tracking of events

* Maintain strong relationships with vendors and repeat clients

* Conduct post-event evaluations and secure professional imagery for marketing

About You:

The ideal candidate will have:

* 2+ years’ experience in event management, event coordination, hospitality or accommodation (3+ years preferred)

* A passion for weddings, bespoke events, and destination hospitality

* Strong communication, organisation, and multi-tasking skills

* Confidence in sales conversations and client relationship management

* Experience with accommodation booking systems or channel managers (e.g. Little Hotelier, RMS, SiteMinder, Cloudbeds or similar) — highly regarded

* Understanding of third-party booking platforms such as Booking.com or Expedia — highly regarded

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Xero is advantageous

* A valid driver’s licence and reliable transport

* Immaculate personal presentation and attention to detail

* Willingness to learn, take initiative, and assist across departments when required

Benefits of Working with Us:

* Work in a stunning country setting surrounded by fresh air, mountain views, and our resident miniature donkeys and alpacas — the fluffiest team members you’ll ever have.

* Competitive salary + super + incentives

* Complimentary onsite parking

* Staff meal and beverage discounts

* Supportive ownership team and genuine career progression opportunities

* Be part of a growing destination venue with creative, memorable events

* Yes… you’ll occasionally be organising Donkey Picnics🐴
