The role
An exceptional opportunity exists for a commercially astute and growth minded marketing executive to join Brand Collective as Group General Manager Marketing on a 12-month parental leave contract.
Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board, this executive leadership role is accountable for building powerful, distinctive brands that disrupt the market and drive commercial growth across Brand Collective's portfolio of iconic apparel and footwear brands.
Working in close partnership with Brand Managing Directors and the Executive Leadership Team, you will set the strategic marketing agenda – translating brand ambition into sales outcomes – while bringing the creative authority and commercial rigour to ensure every brand investment strengthens market position and delivers measurable results.
As the leader of the Group Marketing Centre of Excellence, you will lead a high-performing team across Marketing, Loyalty, Visual Merchandising, Brand Experience and Creative Studio – combining strategic vision with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and lead from the front when it counts.
What you'll be doing
- Defining and leading the Group Marketing Strategy to support Brand Collective's growth ambitions and long term business objectives.
- Acting as a trusted strategic advisor to the CEO, Board, Brand Managing Directors and Executive Leadership Team on brand, customer and market opportunities.
- Partnering closely with Brand Managing Directors, Brand Managers, and the Group General Manager Digital and Group Retail leaders to create an integrated customer and brand growth agenda.
- Championing a customer‐led approach to brand strength and growth, marketing investment and commercial decision making.
- Providing leadership and direction to Heads of Marketing, fostering collaboration, capability uplift and marketing excellence across the Group.
- Identifying emerging market trends, customer insights and strategic opportunities to strengthen Brand Collective's competitive position.
- Representing the marketing function at Executive and Board level, providing strategic insights, recommendations and performance reporting.
- Sponsoring the evaluation and adoption of contemporary marketing technology solutions – including AI, automation and data platforms – ensuring the Group stays at the forefront of innovation and marketing effectiveness.
- Rolling up your sleeves to lead key Group projects end‐to‐end – equally comfortable setting strategy at Board level as you are getting into the detail alongside your team.
About you
You are an accomplished marketing executive with a track record of building powerful brands and driving commercial growth within complex retail, consumer or multi‐brand environments. You think big but lead with hands‐on energy – as comfortable in the detail as you are in the boardroom.
You will bring:
- Significant executive‐level marketing leadership experience within retail, apparel, footwear or consumer‐facing businesses.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing enterprise‐wide marketing strategies that drive sustainable growth.
- A genuine passion for the customer – obsessing over their experience, behaviour and needs as the foundation for every brand and marketing decision, and a strong creative eye with the proven ability to build distinctive brands, going deep enough to provide real creative direction.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to align diverse groups around a common vision.
- A strategic mindset, coupled with the ability to navigate complexity, transformation and change.
- Genuine curiosity and understanding of contemporary marketing technology and channels – including AI, automation and data platforms – with a drive to push the Group to the forefront of innovation.
