About the Role
As a Laboratory Assistant, you will support research activities within the Respiratory and Dust Diseases Associated Research Group (RADDAR), contributing to the delivery of respiratory disease research projects. Working under routine to general direction, you will provide hands‐on technical and administrative support, assisting with established laboratory protocols, data management, and maintaining a safe and well‐organised research environment. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively within a dedicated research team and contribute to meaningful scientific outcomes.
* Assisting with laboratory experiments, including biospecimen processing, cell culture maintenance, histological techniques and flow cytometry sample preparation

* Supporting the day‐to‐day operation of the laboratory, including equipment upkeep, stock management, cleanliness and waste disposal
* Adhering to Work Health and Safety requirements, ethical standards and contributing to a flexible team environment, including occasional weekend work when required

About You
You are a motivated and reliable laboratory assistant with a foundation in biological sciences and a keen interest in supporting research that makes a real‐world impact. You enjoy working as part of a collaborative team and take pride in following established protocols, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to a safe, well‐organised laboratory environment.
* A relevant qualification (Certificate IV, Diploma or equivalent experience) with hands‐on exposure to biological or laboratory‐based techniques
* Practical knowledge of routine laboratory methodologies, including biospecimen processing, cell culture and basic histological or flow cytometry processes
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate experimental records and ensure data integrity and ethical compliance
* Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a research team, supported by competent use of standard office software
