Hours : Day shifts from OR Afternoon shifts with on call 2230 - 0730
Rate : Depends on seniority - contact recruiter
Provisions : Travel provided either return flights or kilometre reimbursement. Self‑contained accommodation provided. Hire car allowance also available.
Where you'll be working
You will be working in a modern health facility that opened in February 2025 offering 24/7 emergency services, an inpatient ward, medical imaging and aged care services to the community of Blackwater, Queensland.
This small regional emergency department is busy and a fun working environment with interesting presentations.
The location
This small mining town in Central QLD has history and economy deeply intertwined with coal. You can explore this rich history at the International Coal Centre and the Australian Coal Mining Museum. Beyond its industrial core the town features attractions like the tranquil Japanese Gardens, symbolizing its bond with its sister city Fujisawa, Japan, and Lions Park, which proudly displays flags representing the diverse nationalities of its mining community. Nearby, Bedford Weir and the striking Blackdown Tableland National Park offer opportunities for fishing, bushwalking, and enjoying the natural landscape during your time off.
Here you will find a solid range of recreational options to enjoy outside of work. For dining there is a bistro and modern Australian food served at the local Inn as well as multiple casual cafés in town. There is a sports centre and a 24‑hour gym.
Requirements
* Current specialist or general registration with AHPRA.
* FRACGP or FACRRM preferred. Career Medical Officers with extensive emergency medicine experience accepted.
* Access to Medicare Provider number is not required.
