Tackling Indigenous Smoking Team Support Officer (Identified Role) - Male
This is a full-time role within the Public Health team at Kalpa Purru Wirranjarlki.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Tackling Indigenous Smoking Program in Western Arrernte and surrounding areas.
* Work closely with local Aboriginal communities to promote health information and services.
* Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders and community members.
* Provide administrative support to the program team.
Requirements:
* Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
* Working with Children's Check / OCHRE Card eligibility.
* Right to live and work in Australia.
* Full Driver's license with no restrictions.
* Availability to work full-time office hours.
* Demonstrate understanding of social and economic issues affecting Aboriginal Communities in remote Australia.
* Briefly outline interests in the position.
* Experience using Microsoft Office Applications.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Experience promoting health information to clients.
* Able to build relationships with clients as required.
* Responsible and committed worker.
* Experience working in Remote Communities.
* Awareness of accountability and confidentiality.
Language Skills:
English language proficiency is required. Additional languages spoken are an advantage.
Education:
Diploma or degree in a relevant field such as public health, community development, or social science is preferred.
