Aboriginal Community Facilitator Role
This role supports connection to community and culture whilst growing children to be strong in their Aboriginal Identity.
The Koorie Families as First Educators (KFFE) Facilitator is responsible for facilitating group programmes for parents and children aged 0–5, delivering an evidence-based parenting programme that builds connection with the children.
The facilitator shares tips and ideas to support the child's learning and development, fostering a culturally respectful and competent manner with Aboriginal children, their families and communities. This role also requires working effectively with Aboriginal organisations, government departments and community service organisations.
This position involves collaborating with local Indigenous leaders, elders and other stakeholders to ensure cultural competence and sensitivity are prioritized at all times.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, commitment to continually building knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues impacting upon Aboriginal communities.
