About the role
Key responsibilities:
* Prepare, plan and execute audit assignments in accordance with Australian Auditing Standards
* Undertake preliminary reviews of client data to identify issues requiring further investigation
* Perform substantive testing of transactions and balances, including raising audit issues and adjustments
* Collate and document audit evidence over material balances and transactions
* Conduct and document audit planning and completion procedures
* Design audit approaches and prepare comprehensive audit plans
* Coordinate group audit requirements and document control frameworks
* Draft management letters and audit reports for manager review
* Prepare and review statutory financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards
* Draft annual financial reports and final audit completion documentation
* Review audit files with a focus on technical accounting and compliance standards
* Liaise with clients regarding audit and accounting queries
* Assess, identify and clearly communicate key risk exposures to clients
* Support, mentor and develop junior team members while fostering strong internal relationships
* Prepare clear, well-presented and easy-to-follow workpapers.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* 4 to 5 years' experience inexternal audit
* Experience leading audits on selected engagements and demonstrating leadership capability
* Strong understanding of:
* IFRS
* Australian Auditing Standards (ASA)
* Relevant legislation applicable to audit engagements
* ACommerce or Business degree majoring in accounting, or equivalent accounting qualification
* CA or CPA qualification, or equivalent.
You will also have:
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong project and time management skills
* The ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
* A proactive approach to managing client expectations.
