Barista
* Prepare and serve high-quality espresso and filter coffee beverages following Laneway standards and recipes
* Operate commercial coffee equipment including grinders, espresso machines, and batch brewers
* Monitor and maintain coffee station cleanliness and presentation throughout service
* Set up the coffee station prior to opening and complete efficient pack-down at the end of service
* Assist with dialling in coffee and adjusting grind/extraction as needed throughout the day
* Engage with customers in a warm, professional manner and resolve any coffee-related issues promptly
* Communicate effectively with floor staff and management to ensure smooth service flow
* Ensure compliance with hygiene and safety regulations at all times
Requirements:
* Hold a relevant qualification equivalent to an AQF Certificate II with at least one year of relevant work experience; OR hold an AQF Certificate III with one year of post-qualification experience (20+ hours/week);
* Alternatively, at least one year of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
* Lead front-of-house service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction during peak café hours
* Supervise, support, and train junior wait staff in service standards and procedures
* Manage guest seating, table flow, and booking coordination during busy periods
* Take orders, serve food and beverages, and respond to customer enquiries or complaints professionally
* Assist with POS operation, cash handling, and end-of-day reconciliation
* Work closely with baristas and kitchen staff to ensure efficient service delivery
* Monitor cleanliness and readiness of dining and service areas
* Assist in scheduling and delegating duties across FOH staff as directed by the manager or owner
Requirements:
* Hold a relevant qualification equivalent to an AQF Certificate II with at least one year of relevant work experience; OR hold an AQF Certificate III with one year of post-qualification experience (20+ hours/week);
* Alternatively, at least one year of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
Cook
* Prepare and cook a variety of modern Australian café-style dishes in accordance with daily menu and recipe standards
* Manage cooking stations and ensure food is cooked and presented consistently
* Assist in prep of fresh produce, sauces, garnishes, and other meal components
* Monitor cooking equipment and regulate temperatures as required
* Check quality and freshness of ingredients prior to use
* Store food safely and comply with food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
* Work efficiently during high-volume service times with support from kitchen team
* May assist with new dish trials or basic input into daily specials
Requirements:
* Hold a relevant qualification equivalent to an AQF Certificate III (including two years of on-the-job training); OR hold an AQF Certificate IV with at least one year of relevant work experience;
* Alternatively, at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
Chef
* Plan seasonal café menus that reflect fresh local produce, customer preferences, and efficient preparation workflows
* Estimate food and labour costs, manage ordering of supplies, and maintain stock control
* Monitor food quality and presentation throughout preparation and service
* Collaborate with management, kitchen staff, and floor team on dish execution, dietary requirements, and service timing
* Demonstrate techniques and advise kitchen team on cooking methods and plating
* Prepare and cook meals across all menu categories during service
* Enforce hygiene standards and food safety procedures in line with NT regulations
* May participate in selection and training of new kitchen staff
* May assist in freezing, portioning or preserving ingredients where appropriate
Pastry Cook
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all equipment, trays, and utensils are cleaned and sanitised and comply with food safety and workplace health and safety standards
* Check the quality of raw ingredients and accurately measure and weigh ingredients for production
* Mix, knead, shape, and prepare pastry doughs and pastry items according to recipes and kitchen standards
* Prepare fillings and components for pastries and desserts
* Monitor oven temperatures and product appearance to ensure optimal baking results
* Coordinate baking processes including forming, baking, cooling, and finishing pastry products
* Assist with glazing pastries and decorating cakes and desserts where required
* Operate bakery equipment and machines used for rolling, shaping, and cutting dough and pastry items
* Clean and maintain baking trays, tins, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards
Requirements:
