Job Goal/Primary Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support, transportation planning, and safety coordination for the school district's transportation operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
* Criminal History Records Check Approval from State of Maine
* Experience with Dispatching and Scheduling Technology Preferred
* Able to Work with Diverse Groups including Parents and Staff
* Knowledge of Bus Standards and Maintenance Procedures or Willingness to Learn
* Maine Driver's License Required
Essential Functions (Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities):
1. Administrative Duties:
o Monitor and Document Bus Operator Check-ins for AM/Midday/PM Runs
o Utilize Master Schedule for Daily Dispatch Functions
o Track and Recordkeeping using Computer Application Software
o Clerical Duties as Assigned
o Clear, Calm, and Concise Verbal Transmissions
o Forward Route, Safety, and Student Behavior Concerns to Transportation Director
2. Transportation Planning & Coordination:
o Implement School Transportation Policies and Laws
o Plan and Organize Regular Routes, Field Trips, and Extracurricular Activities using BusRight
o Adjust Daily Driver/Aide Assignments with Transportation Director
o Transmit Route Information to Unassigned Drivers
3. Safety & Training:
o Facilitate Required Inspections and Driver Training Programs
o Assist with Emergency Evacuation Drills and Safety Training
o Relay Factual Information in Emergency Situations
4. Other Responsibilities:
o Maintain Positive Communication with School Personnel and Students
o Participate in Meetings regarding Student Transportation or Staff
o Perform Tasks as Assigned by Transportation Director
Compensation and Terms of Employment:
Salary and Work Year Determined by Superintendent
